Featuring zero permeability, this tape serves as a vapor barrier, making it ideal for applications where preventing air penetration is crucial. This tape is reinforced for high (55 lb/244 N) puncture and tear resistance as well as excellent chemical resistance, allowing it to be used in interior and exterior applications where extra durability is required. It installs easily without the use of special tools. It includes a release liner to assist in applying the tape and to protect the adhesive prior to application. 3M™ VentureClad™ heavy duty insulation jacketing tape 1579GCW-WM features an aggressive pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive that bonds and seals at temperatures as cold as -10 deg F (-23 deg C). This adhesive adheres immediately on contact to a variety of materials. It performs well under a broad range of temperatures ranging from -94 deg F to 248 deg F (-70 deg C to 120 deg C). Once bonded, this tape will provide good holding power for extended periods with good aging properties that resists lifting and curling over time.
